SHAR-ING— To use or enjoy together with others
SHAR-ING— To use or enjoy together with others
Purpose:
■ To help children develop good relationships by learning the importance of sharing.
Description:
The talk begins with a definition of the word sharing. We review spelling, pronunciation and give examples to help the children understand how it applies to them. We then use role-playing activities to reinforce the children’s understanding of the concept. These
exercises are designed to give children an opportunity to experience the good feeling that comes from giving. At the end of the session, children are asked to draw a picture in their workbook that demonstrates what they have learned.
Outcomes:
■ Children gain an understanding of the concept of sharing, how to spell it and use the word as part of their vocabulary.
■ Children learn to share with others by practicing the concept in the classroom.
■ Children are motivated by the positive experience of sharing to practice this behavior more
often.
■ Children visualize the concept by drawing a picture of how they can share with someone else.
